CRICKET EMIKO KAYA
I build systems of care for people and planet.
Seeking sustainability in all things, I approach strategic planning as ecosystem design by mimicking the dynamic resourcefulness of our plant and animal succession planners. I align people, technology, and mission to strengthen operational capacity and deliver impact in museum, government, and nonprofit systems. In practice, I help teams develop essential tools, train collaboratively, and iterate as we go. I create data models that demonstrate this change, allowing stakeholders to feel empowered by their decisions.
I research and write about social movements and change, guiding my leadership and relationships. I'm fascinated by the way people move and create movements. I believe the work environment must steward the emotional and physical well-being of its organisms, shifting and changing as we do.
All of these elements inform my fundraising strategy and grant-writing process to deliver dollars that are aligned, monitored, and effective.
"There is always enough time to do the right work." adrienne maree brown, Emergent Strategy

I approach writing and research like a starling: following movement and patterns to gather insight and tell clear, meaningful stories.
Funding Strategist
I build funding strategies like roots: grounded, resilient, and deeply embedded in purpose. I create budget projections and financial procedures that boost stakeholder relationships and strengthen organizational health.
Systems Designer
I create organizational systems like forests: layered, adaptive, and sustainable. Through careful assessment of existing strengths, I design systems that help mission-driven teams navigate complexity and compliance with creative confidence.
